BDK Kuwait Chapter Recognized by Kuwait Ministry of Health on World Blood Donor Day

Blood Donors Kerala, Kuwait Chapter a social media fraternity, honored for the second year in a row. The award is in recognition of the philanthropic work done in promoting voluntary blood donation among the Kuwaiti community. The BDK Kuwait team was honored at a function organized by the Ministry of Health as part of World Blood Donor Day Celebration 2019.

Representing the BDK Kuwait team; Prashant Koyilandi, Sarath Kattoor, Rameshan TM and Jai Krishnan received the award from Mr. Fawaz Al Rifai, Undersecretary of Medical Affairs of the Ministry of Health, Kuwait. Blood Transfusion Department Director Dr. Reem Al Radhwan emphasized the volume of activities of the BDK Kuwait team in 2018 and 2019. During the period, BDK was able to supply 1400 bags of blood and 200 units of platelets to the Central Blood Bank via 14 blood donation camps in and outside the Blood Bank in collaboration with various community organizations and establishments.

Blood Donors Kerala, Founded in Kerala by Vinod Bhaskaran, a social activist in 2011; today, is actively involved in voluntary blood donation campaigns in ten countries, including Kuwait. In Kuwait alone, there are about 50 full fledged coordinators and over 4000 registered blood donors available in this arena.

This award received by BDK Kuwait is dedicated to all our Blood Donors and supporters as well as other components of BDK.
