Ramadan is the ninth month of the Islamic calendar. During Ramadan the Muslims fast for the whole month, from sunrise to sunset. Meals are served before sunrise called Suhoor and after sunset called Iftar and eaten with the family or local Community. Many Muslims break their fast by eating dates before their Iftar meal. Dates boast of a large number of vital nutrients and health benefits. They propel the insulin levels in the body and give an instant energy boost. Here is the recipe to make dates truffle.

Ingredients

•20 pitted dates
•¾ cup cashew nuts
•¾ cup walnuts
•¾ cup almond slivers
• Pinch of cardamom
•2 tbsp honey
•1tbsp date syrup
•1 cup dried flaked or shredded coconut

Instruction

Place pitted dates, cashew nuts, walnuts, almond slithers, honey, date syrup, cardamom, into the food processor. Pulse until the mixture turns into a crumbled, sticky dough -it will become a moldable paste, but should still have texture. Roll the nutty paste into 1- inch diameter balls into the bowl of toasted coconut to coat. Your dates truffle is ready to serve.

Have a happy and blessed Ramadan,
May Allah’s Blessings always shine upon it.
