Ramadan has a very special place in Islam and as Allah said in the Quran, Ramadan is the most superior month of the year.It is the month in which the holy Quran, which leads people from the darkness of the light of the path of our almighty and all-wise lord was sent down as guidance, glad tidings and reminder to those who trembled in awe make it of enormous importance to all Muslims. Allah said ‘Any of you who are resident must fast it but any of you are ill or on a journey should fast a number of other days. Allah desires ease for you he does not desires difficult for you.

People from all over the world living in Kuwait celebrate Ramadan.Ramadan holds a unique position in the hearts and minds of our community. Ramadan in Kuwait has its own set of customs and rituals kept alive by the people. The Kuwaiti people evoke the past with all its beautiful details from traditional costumes and dishes, to the special Ramadan celebration held.

After the month of Ramadan is over, Muslims celebrate one of the two most important holidays in the Islamic year EID-UL-FITR or the festival of the fast breaking. Eid is an important religious festival in Kuwait, and it is marked as a national holiday. Eid, also referred to as 'Eid-ul-fitr', celebrated over the successful completion of the month of Ramadan. It is a day to thank god for the blessing and training that he provides us with throughout the month of Ramadan. In a nutshell ,even though the real purpose of the dynamic institution of fasting is to discipline our soul and moral behavior and to develop sympathy for the less fortunate, it is a multifunctional and comprehensive tool of change in various spheres of our lives, including : social and economic, intellectual and humanitarian, spiritual and physical, private and public, personal and common, inner and outer all in one.

Allah says “Fasting is shield, it will protect you from the hell fire and prevent you from sins.”“Ramadan is like a rare flower that blossoms once a year and just as you begin to smell its fragrance, it disappears for another year.” “Don’t change yourself only for Ramadan, but change yourself for your entire life.”

For a true Muslim, End of Ramadan is not the end but start of a new journey leading towards The Jannah.
