Kuwait Oil Company HSE D&T (Technical Support Group) and Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) jointly organized Community Awareness Program

KOC D&T Directorate Technical Support Group in collaboration with Tamil Nadu Engineers Forum (TEF), Kuwait, the one & only ISO 9001:2015 Certified non-profitable organization in Kuwait jointly organized a “Community Awareness Program” on “Health, Home Safety, Hygiene, CPR & First Aid” on 7th March 2019 @ KOC Unity Centre, Ahmadi.
Community Awareness Program was well-attended by more than 225 participants and found extremely useful to their day-to-day life. Program started @ 6.30 PM with Kuwait National anthem and Indian National anthem followed with safety moment and Thirukkural Mozhithal (sharing sacred verses from the holy book of Tamilians).
On behalf of HSE D&T Team, Mr. Ahmad Al-Shatti, Senior Safety Engineer - HSE D&T delivered the opening remarks and inaugurated the awareness program. He emphasized the importance of Community awareness, which is one of the important initiative recently taken up by KOC and incorporated in KOC strategic plans. He elaborated on the objective of the event is to create some sort of awareness among all, so that everyone can live safely. He once again thanked TEF Kuwait for coming forward to conduct this program in collaboration with HSE D&T Team of Technical Support Group.
After his opening remarks, TEF President Mr. Krishna Jegan garlanded Mr. Shatti in the traditional Indian way of honoring the Guests. In addition, as a token of affection & gratitude, memento was given to Mr. Ahmad Al-Shatti for supporting in conducting the event.
Mr. Ashok Garlapati, HSE Consultant, of HSE D&T Team of Technical Support Group, outlined the details of the program planned during the awareness program. He shared the importance of the Community Awareness program to the participants and commitment of KOC management to conduct such programs.
To formally inaugurate the event, ceremonial cake cutting was done jointly by the representatives of KOC HSE D&T, KOC Hospital, TEF and KOC business partners.
Totally, eight sessions were conducted to bring out the awareness on “Health, Home Safety, Hygiene, CPR & First Aid”. The sessions covered (a) Health Risk associated with Active & Passive Smoking, (b) First Aid & CPR Demonstration by Paramedics, Ambulance Unit, Ahmadi Hospital, Kuwait Oil Company, (c) Food Safety & Hygiene Aspects, (d) Home Safety, (e) Smartphone - Our Constant Companion (f) Tyre Safety (g) Clinical Psychology and (h) Quiz Program using smart phone. All the sessions were extremely useful to the participants and Quiz program conducted in the end was amazing with maximum participation & competition. Winners were honored with prizes & Mr. Ahmad Al-Shatti distributed the prizes.
Mr. Basheer Malik, Senior Drilling Hygienist, HSE D&T, TS group coordinated to organize KOC business partners for the demonstration of products related to Safety, Health & Fitness in nine exhibition booths. Participants utilized the health screening provided by KOC Preventive Medical Services, Ahmadi Hospital
The Community Awareness program jointly organized by “Kuwait Oil Company HSE D&T (TS GROUP) and Tamilnadu Engineers Forum (TEF) was highly successful with maximum participation and found very useful to every participant.
