Writers’ Forum, Kuwait held its monthly meeting

The Writers’ Forum, Kuwait held its monthly meeting on 22nd February’19 at the Mangaf residence of Mr. Tushar Mishra.

The meeting started with homage to the martyrs of the Pulwama terrorist attack wherein 44 Indian Security personnel sacrificed their lives. All the members condemned this act of terrorism and observed a minute’s silence with prayers for the departed souls.

Thereafter, Ms Maimuna Ali Chougle; President of the Forum congratulated the citizens of Kuwait on the occasion of their National day and expressed joy in their 28th of Liberation Day. All the members of the Forum joined her in extending their felicitations to HH the Emir and the people of Kuwait and prayed for the continued development and prosperity of the country. Mr. Ali Chougle read his message of congratulations to Kuwait in Arabic.

The next half hour was devoted to the review of the Multi Lingual Kavi Sammelan & Mushaira organized on February 8. Ms. Maimuna congratulated everyone for an overall successful performance. At the same time, all the members also discussed how future events could be made even better.

The ensuing Poetry session was presided over by Hindi poetess Ms. Parul Chaturvedi. Ms. Vijaya Nair – renowned social worker and founder of many cultural associations in Kuwait who writes poetry in five Indian languages was the Chief Guest.

Members present then recited their poems in various Indian languages viz Ms. Madhulika Mohta (English), Vinay Pubia, Ms. Kavita Sarvesh & Ameeruddin Ameer (Hindi), Biswa Ranjan, Tushar Mishra & Ms. Jayshree Mishra (Oriya), Ms. Kalpana Shah (Gujarati) and Ms. Maimuna Ali Chougle & Sunil Sonsi (Urdu).

Ms. Vijaya Nair; the Chief Guest the presented her English poem on the Pulwama martyrs and also appreciated the efforts of the forum for the noble cause of national integration. Ms. Parul Chaturvedi President of the meeting then presented her Hindi poem and appreciated the literary thoughts of the members.

The meeting was beautifully convened by Mr. Sunil Sonsi, Joint Secretary of the Forum. All the members conveyed their thanks to Mr. Tushar Mishra and Ms. Jayshree Mishra for their warm hospitality.
