Wellmed - Cup 2019 held

The Wellmed - cup 2019 was held at Sabhan ground on 25th February 2019 The tournament was organized by Mr.Denis Barboza and the Modern Star Cricket Club.
Matches began early in the morning with the preliminary rounds consisting of 14 teams that participated in the tournament on a Knockout basis. This was then followed by the semi –finals and finals which was keenly fought between Raf Eagles XI v/s Rising star.

Raf Eagles reached the finals by beating Comel in the semi-finals, Rising star reached by beating by T.C.C . In the finals, Raf Eagles won the toss and elected to bat first. Raf Eagles with major contribution from all players managed to score 110 runs in the allocated 10 overs. The top score for the team came from Ranjeet who remained unbeaten with 52 runs.

Rising star needed 111 runs to reach the target and they managed to score 111 runs 9.4 overs top scorer Ebin Alex 56 runs and Ebin alex was man of the match 56 runs. The Chief Guest for the evening was Mr.Ifran Abdul aziz from Qnet partner’s & Mr.Arun D’Silva representative of Wellmed group Kuwait handed over the trophies to the respective captains Vipin Raj of Rising star and Shiron of Raf Eagles and congratulated both teams for playing good cricket.

The Wellmed cup is an annual tournament organized by Denis Barboza, Anthony D’cruz and Modern star cricket club. The Organizer thanked all the participating teams for taking part in the tournament & the Cup sponsoror Wellmed group & Ifran Aziz of Qnet partners.
