Foreign Minister H E Mr Khaled Al-Jarallah attends India's 70th Republic Day celebration

Kuwait's Deputy Foreign Minister H E Mr Khaled Al-Jarallah attended India's 70th Republic Day reception hosted by the Ambassador of India to Kuwait Sri K Jeeva Sagar. The celebration held at Millenium Hotel, Salmiya was attended by large number of Kuwaiti dignitaries, Diplomats and Ambassadors of various countries.





Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Sri K Jeeva Sagar in his welcome speech, congratulated the Kuwaiti leaders for the constructive role Kuwait is playing towards the reconciliation in the gulf region. He also congratulated more than a million Indians present in this country for their dedication and respect for the laws of the land to make India proud.



Ambassador along with Foreign Minister H E Mr Khaled Al-Jarallah inaugurated the celebrations by cutting the ceremonial cake.

Deputy Foreign Minister Khaled Al-Jarallah lauded strong historic bonds linking Kuwait and India. "Kuwaiti-Indian relations are deeply-rooted and date back to many decades when Kuwaiti merchants' trips to India to sell their commodities which were a source of income to Kuwaiti people," Al-Jarallah told reporters on the sidelines of his participation in the reception.

He pointed out that Indians were making up the largest expatriate community in Kuwait. They are working with Kuwaitis to develop and upgrade Kuwait," Al-Jarallah said, adding that "We have great relations in all realms."







The event was followed by the Kathak performance by Smt Manju Sibi. Famous Kuwaiti violinist Mr Abdul Aziz performed "Vande Mataram.." in his violin, which was well received by the audience. This was followed by a classical dance performance.

The reception was attended by number of community leaders representing various community associations, business leaders, Principals of various India schools and media fraternity. The event was followed by dinner.
