Indian community in Kuwait celebrated India’s Republic Day

Indian community in Kuwait celebrated India’s Republic Day at the embassy of India, Kuwait. Celebration begins with unfurling of the National Flag by the Ambassador of India Sri K Jeeva Sagar after garlanding the Mahatma Gandhi statue.

This was followed by reading of the Address to the Nation of the Hon’ble President of India by the Ambassador. Students of various Indian schools performed patriotic songs to mark the occasion.



Despite the cold weather, thousands of Indian citizens with their families turned up for the open-air function to show their love and respect for their motherland. Members of the Indian community in Kuwait from all walks of life including representatives of Indian associations, businessmen, doctors, engineers, other professionals, domestic workers and Embassy staff with their families participated with joy and enthusiasm in the celebrations reflecting India’s rich ethnic, linguistic, religious, and cultural diversity.



The Ambassador extended his warmest greetings to all members of the Indian Community in Kuwait. The Ambassador appreciated the large crowd for arriving at the embassy premise early morning to celebrate the spirit of Republic Day. He also shared his joy with the community members as one of the Indian community member Mr Rajpal Thaygi received the prestigious Pravasi Bharatheea Award last week from the President of India. Ambassador also thanked the Indian community in Kuwait for raising to the occasion to help our country when Kerala was affected with flood furry last year.
