Proposal submitted to construct bicycle lanes along Arabian Gulf Street

Parliamentarian Osama Al-Shaheen submitted a proposal to construct bicycle lanes along Arabian Gulf Street and other suitable roads around the country.

According to local report, the proposal submitted to Public Authority for Roads and Transportation (PART) suggest that the bicycle lanes should not be less than two meters wide and they should be constructed in accordance with all safety standards.

He explained the number of cyclists in the country is on the rise, especially during winter and holidays.

Since their preferred cycling track is along the beach which is usually crowded with families, children and joggers; it has become necessary for the State to allocate spaces for cyclists, he concluded.
