MEDICAL DIAGNOSTIC LAB (MDL) is a Clinical Laboratory opened in Salmiya recently and is dedicated and committed to provide most accurate and critically important data for the diagnostic and therapeutic monitoring of the patients.

In an exclusive interview with Dr Parveen Tabassum, Laboratory Pathologist at MDL, she explains various facilities offered by the laboratory.
What are the services offered by your laboratory?
Our main goal is to provide Patients, Doctors, Clinics and Polyclinics with sophisticated lab analysis and routine and specialized medical tests that meet predefined Quality parameters, Accuracy and Affordable prices. Our services include all types of routine as well as special laboratory investigations of over 2000 test parameters which includes , General Health Check-ups, Well Woman Package, Cardiac Package, Pre Employment Check-up profile, Pre-Marital testing for both Male& Female and also wide range of health profiles as per your diagnostic requirements. Infact, I would say “there is no test we can’t do”. We do have a ‘Home Service’ facility also.
What type of service you carry out when you say ‘Home Service”?
MDL provides transportation facility and qualified technician staff to collect the samples from families at homes and deliver the results to the same address. We offer this sample collection and report delivery to Residence, Clinics, and even to Hospitals.
Do you require a prior booking for the home service?
Of course, it would be better if you can inform us about your suitable time in beforehand. Customer can book home visit by telephone or email indicating the day and time for sample collection and we will send the confirmation for the same.
We do have 4 delivery vehicles equipped with qualified staff. Our delivery is available any time during our working hours. At present we are doing this service in and around Salmiya only.
There is any additional charge for Home Service?
No, there is no additional charge for this.
How equipped is your laboratory and the staff?
We at MDL have most advanced facilities available here. All of our equipments are the latest in line from ‘Roche’, which is the number one brand in medical laboratory equipments. Our latest equipments include the Roche Cobas E 411 and C 311 fully automated analyzers which are Random Access Software controlled systems with Data transmission, Documentation and Quality control are performed automatically by the software. We have six highly qualified laboratory technologist experienced in all lab specialties. We do offer free consultation with test results if the patient requires any clarifications. All our reports are given with detailed explanation of the result. Most of our staff are from India and they speak most of the regional Indian languages.
Do you have any special schemes for patients who require regular test?
Yes, we do have privileged customer card, which any customer can apply. There is no application fee for this. Any customer having this privilege customer card will get special offers and discounts from time to time. They can also get priority service also from our lab.

What steps you are taken to ensure proper quality control?
Medical Diagnostic Laboratory is proud of its comprehensive, Extensive Internal Quality control and Quality Assurance measures. We follow strict quality control to ensure the efficient functioning of equipments and the issuance of accurate results. We have collaboration with International Referral Laboratories worldwide to provide the facility of getting other diagnostic opinion through slides/reports showing & evaluation.
Is your test affordable to the common man?
