Top players from India attends Kuwait Badminton Challenge

The much awaited badminton event of Kuwait “Kuwait Badminton Challenge” organized by Indian Badminton Association, Kuwait IBAK started here on Thursday. The tournament was officially inaugurated by the Indonesian Ambassador to Kuwait Tatang Budie Utama Razak at the Saad Al Awzi School (IBAK Gym and training Center), Salwa.

Several top badminton players from across the world, which includes the likes of Alwin Francis of India ranked no 44 in doubles, Abhishek Yeligar of India and Fikri Ihsand Hadmadi of Indonesia who are currently ranked inside top 100 in singles and many other BWF ranked players will be contesting in the tournament. Reigning Singles champion Shreyans Jaiswal is also there to defend his crown.



The three days tournament will be concluded on Saturday. In the team event there are 8 teams battling for the crown which includes teams from India, Indonesia and Qatar and 5 teams from Kuwait.

Indonesian Ambassador Tatang Budie Utama Razak Congratulated IBAK for creating interest among the expats community in the sporting event of Badminton and organizing such events.

This will be a golden opportunity of all badminton lovers in Kuwait to witness this splendid event, IBAK Chairman Dr ManimaraChozhan said during the opening event. K T Chandrahas, Ginu Vaikath, Bipin Madhavan, Ajaya Kumar, etc were present during the inaugural event.
