North Kanara Association celebrated Independence Day and Feast of Assumption

It was a dual celebration for Executive Members of North Kanara Association – Kuwait, who enthusiastically geared up yet again, to proudly celebrate the Independence Day of India and Feast of Assumption on 15th August 2017.

Holy Mass was offered at St. Theresa’s Church Salmiya by the Association. Thereafter, it was time for the huge crowd which consisted of bachelors and families to partake in the celebration, which was to be held at the residence of President John Fernandes.

Holy Rosary was led by Rosemaria D’Souza. Rev. Fr. Antony Lopez, OFM Cap., JCD., Eccl. Judge & Chancellor who graciously attended the function, delivered a short but inspiring talk to the audience. The President expressed his gratitude for the presence of all members and their contribution to the Association.

Mr. Ashu Rodrigues spoke on the purpose of the celebration and briefed the audience with the charitable works conducted by the Association so far. National Anthem of India was sung by all members with due respect.

A game of Housie was conducted by Mr. Joseph Dourado and several prizes were distributed.

The traditional sweet Patolis were prepared by few members of NKA-K at the residence of Mr. John Fernandes. Mr Leanv Lopes and Mr. Joseph Fernandes voluntarily contributed in cooking a delicious meal which was relished by all.
