Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, the exclusive importer of McLaren vehicles in Kuwait, announced the long-awaited arrival of the all-new McLaren 720S.

The latest addition to McLaren’s Super Series carries a well-deserved label “lighter, stronger, faster”, thanks to the brand’s relentless quest to redefine the meaning of engagement between driver and car.

Commenting on the new arrival, Yousef Al-Qatami, General Manager, Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive, said: “No doubt, this is one of the most exciting introductions of the year in the automotive industry.

The new McLaren 720S sets a new benchmark for super sports cars, with a perfected combination of light weight, power and unprecedented technology. If you haven’t driven a McLaren 720S, it would be hard to define what a true sports car can deliver.”

¦ Lighter
In the 720S, McLaren has taken carbon fibre usage to a new level, combining the upper structure of the car with tub to form a single carbon fibre body shell — the Monocage II. Besides the known rigidity and safety benefits of carbon fibre, the new chassis presents enhanced driving dynamics thanks to a lower centre of gravity, and a better all-round visibility tribute to the slimmer carbon fibre pillars.

This means better driver control and further reductions in weight, contributing the car’s stunning dry weight of only 1,283kg.

¦ Stronger and faster
The all-new 720S reaps its power from the new M840T 4.0 litre engine, which produces a whopping 710bhp. Power delivery is instantaneous and seemingly endless. Every part of the engine was analysed and refined to maximise power and sharpen response.

As a result, the 720S can go from still to 100km/hr in merely 2.9 secs and to 200km/hr in only 7.8 seconds.

¦ Technology
The McLaren 720S boasts the world’s most advanced suspension. The new Proactive Chassis Control II system constantly monitors the ride through advanced wheel and damper sensors and instantly applies forces to harmonise the dynamics.

As for McLaren’s renowned aerodynamics feats, it can be confidently said that the 720S has turned air from an opponent to an ally. The advanced system channels air around the car’s body adding a maximum of 180kg of downforce at full speed, thus increasing stability. More air is guided to cool the engine, while excess air is swept past without impact on the car’s performance.

The all-new 720S also benefits from great tech advancements including static adaptive headlights that now come without mechanical parts to save weight and improve response; Variable Drift Control, which allows the driver to determine the ammount of oversteer before the traction control intervenes; and the McLaren Track Telemetry system, which captures vital track information and features them on the folding driver display for immediate feedback.
