IEI Kuwait Chapter conducted its first Seminar for the current year 2017-18 at Kohinoor Restaurant, Fahaheel on May 24th 2017 for all the Engineers in Kuwait. Even though the climate was not conducive the Engineers turned out in large numbers to attend the seminar as a part of the Continuous Professional Development (CPD) programme of the Chapter.

The Chairman of the chapter Egr. Ajay Sharma welcomed the members to the function and invited the master of ceremony Egr. Sam Ananth to introduce the speakers.

The topic of the seminar was “Energy systems in Geo-biology” which was delivered in two parts: Part one by Egr Sundararajan the former chairman for the chapter and the former head of the electrical department of Pan Arab Consultants in Kuwait. The second part of the seminar was presented by Egr. Ravi Shankar who was the former Executive Committee member of the chapter.

From time immemorial people have understood that the structures and forms created by the humans should be in harmony with the laws of the greater creation that live not in time but outgrown time and live in eternity like the Pyramids of Egypt, Taj Mahal in India, Church of Lourde in France…etc. The balance of forces or harmony of various energies in a space or building is the fundamental of all architecture. Geobiology is the study of the effects of bio – electromagnetic – radiations emitted by various sources including Earth, the Sun, the Moon and the Environment. The sick building syndrome which is recognised by WHO (World Health Organisation) points to the fact that illness can be due to working or staying in sick building caused by geopathic stresses resulting in the imbalance in the energy field. The members enjoyed the presentation which was followed by a lively question and answer session.

The vote of thanks was proposed by the General Secretary of the Chapter Egr. Thomas John. He highlighted the activities which are to come during the year including the AMIE examinations which are conducted regularly by the chapter for the diploma holders to achieve the equivalent of the bachelor’s degree in Engineering. The summer Exams are to be begin by June 3rd 2017. Egr Thomas John also informed the members of the Ladies wing workshop to be conducted by Egr. Nasreen on June 3rd .

The seminar ended with a sumptuous dinner and the members looking forward to the next seminar.
