Salman Yusuff Khan, Ishq Bector Enchant Kuwait at Tdd 9th Annual Jubilaiton - Jhoomte Sitare

The Dancing Divas academy organized its 9th Annual Jubilation on Friday May 19 at Cambridge School, Mangaf, from 6:30pm onwards. The programme was attended by Winner of Dance India Dance Season 1 Dancer-actor Salman Yusuff Khan, popular Indo Canadian singer and Hip Hop artist Ishq Bector, Ruth Stelle and Atique Ajmeri.

The programme commenced with compere of the day Mrs. Rachana Nilesh welcoming the guests followed by National anthem of Kuwait and India. Mr. Anis Ahmed, Director of Salmiya Indian Model School, Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Sharfaraj of Sahara Air Conditioning Co and Mr. Asad Khan of Kuwait Sweedish Cleaning Co. were led by the Mrs. Jyoti Patel to light the symbolic lamp. They were then escorted to the stage along with Mr. Ramdas Nair of Bahrain Exchange Co., Mr. Sunny Thomas of Global International General Trading Co., Mr. Bivin Thomas of Nauras Al Bahar General Trading Co., Mrs. Danish of Biryani Pot Restaurant, Mr. Ashok Kalra of Mughal Mahal Restaurant Co. Mr. Girish Pradhan of Gulf Spic General Trading & Contracting Co. and Mr. Sunoj Nambiar of IndiansinKuwait.com were honored with bouquets. A souvenir was released to mark the event. Mr. Anis Ahmed and Mr. Aijaz Ahmed Sharfaraj appreciated Jyoti for sparing her valuable time and bringing out the hidden talents of the children.

The program then followed very smoothly with each dance being better than the other. It started with Bharatnatyam Nataraj Vandana by Roshni Patel and Debarshini Mondal choreographed by Guru Sri T.P. Vasudevan Namboodhiri from Upasana.

The ace attraction of the program was, when Salman Yusuff Khan entered the stage with his power packed performance with her co-partner Ruth Stelle, the entire audience jumped off the seats with a big scream and applauds. He entertained the audience with his dance and interaction with audience. Hip Hop artist Ishq Bector entertained the audience with his songs, rap and beat boxing. His stamina and interaction with kids and audience was highly appreciated.

The entertainment part consisted of classical dances, song, variety of filmy and folk dances by the students of the dancing divas. The main attraction of the evening was “Unity in Diversity” which had dance forms of different states of India- Jammu Kashmir, Punjab, Rajasthan, Assam, Odisha, Kerala, Goa, Maharashtra & Gujrat. This piece of performance was a treat to the eyes where the performers were with the traditional cloth of the respective states and synchronized well-choreographed folk song of that the state. The “Unitiy in Diversity” which included the performance of one hundred and fifty performers came together to the stage with Jai Ho… performance adding patriotism to the auditorium. The program was well compered by RJ Rachana and Atique Ajmeri.

The Dancing Divas was founded in May 2008. The aim and the first step of the journey was to live the passion of the founder as the tag line says “dance for passion & passion for dance”, to teach and leverage the learning to the others, propagating the Indian art and culture. The founder Jyoti Patel herself is an Odissi learned dancer along with many other forms of dance.
