Indian school students showcased their creativity at photography contest and exhibition

To give a break to the usual academic activities, large number of students wear the cap of photographers at the 'Eternal Moments 2017-2018' organized by FAIPS DPS for Indian School students. Large number of creative photographs taken by the budding cameraman of various Indian Schools showcased at the Inter School photography contest organized by FAIPS DPS. The unique photography contest titled Eternal Moments, for Indian school students gave a unique opportunity for the student’s community to showcase their creative skills on photography and to participate in the contest.

Around 70 students from 9 Indian schools participated in the contest and submitted around 161 entries, some of them are stunning photographs captured by the budding photographer.

The students were given wonderful theme based on the age group. Students captured on their camera, the beauty of Kuwait through their creative eye. Theme like 'Bakkalas of Kuwait', 'Kuwait Skylines' etc made the students to identify unknown eyes of Kuwait with their camera. The contest was held on Sub Junior, Junior and Senior categories and various themes such as Bakalas of Kuwait (Winner: Saad Mohammed Khan), Food photography(Gauri Thamattoor), Fun in the Sun(Liyana Amin), Pictures of people taking pictures(Dhruv Patel), Friendship(Namrata Warrier), Portrait(Shubhankar), People and Pets(Isra Muneer), Kuwait Liberation day celebrations (Tejas Khanna), Natures gift(Gauri Nndana), People who need people(Priyanka Pramod), Sports in Action(Steve Day Philip), Hope(Anjali ), Skyline of Kuwait(Devalon Dsouza), Culture and Heritage(Devalon Dsouza) and Shadows(Sathwick Nayak). The sharpness is spot on. The light and the composition add up to the success of many of the photos exhibited.

"This is the second time, we are organizing this inter school contest and this time we got very good response compared to previous year", said Mrs Husena, the contest coordinator at DPS. "To remove the element of doubt, we are also conducting a spot photography contest. We are giving a theme and half an hour time inside the campus. The participants are required to take a photo from within the campus and we select the best photo from this," she added. The themes given for the spot photography contest was Expressions for sub juniors, Candid for juniors and Frames for seniors.

Sub junior spot photography winner is Saad Mohanned Khan and runner up is Namrata Warrier. Spot photography winner for Junior category is Alvin Manoj Alex and runner up is Elton O'Mello while the spot photography winner for the senior category is Ritwija Mandal and runner up is Devalon Dsouza.

The event also included a work shop by Bishara Mustafa, Mentor at Kuwait Nikon School. The event was sponsored by Ashraf & Co and Nikon School.
