National Forum (NAFO) Kuwait conducted Kudumbasangamam

National Forum (NAFO) Kuwait conducted ‘Kudumbasangamam’ on February 17th, 2017, at Indian Community School auditorium, Amman branch. The event which started at 05:30PM and concluded at 09:00PM was attended by numerous NAFO members and their families. This event was organized in order to further enlighten the members about the need and importance of social togetherness, to promote like-mindedness and to preserve the existing harmonious and cordial family friendships in NAFO.

The event started with lighting the ceremonial lamp followed by a beautiful invocation song by Anjana Raviprasad. General Secretary, Vijaykrishnan, welcomed the gathering, which was followed by the Presidential address of O.N. Nandakumar, Hon. President. NAFO patron, Vijay Karayil, and Advisory Board member Dr. Prasad M. Nair, delivered thoughtful messages regarding the importance of beholding the values and principles of mutual family bonds, and through which attain the ultimate vision and mission of NAFO.

The two major wings of NAFO, General Committee and Ladies Wing Co-ordination Committee, were democratically and unanimously re-constituted during the event. General Committee convener, O.N. Suresh Kumar initiated the reconstitution of General Committee; meanwhile Ladies Wing reconstitution was guided by NAFO Advisory Board member V.R. Vijayan Nair at the esteemed presence of other members of Advisory Board. More than 25 members volunteered to be new General Committee members, and an overwhelming number of 17 ladies offered to serve as members of the new Ladies Wing Coordination Committee. Outgoing Ladies Wing CC members were thanked and widely appreciated for their previous commendable contributions and initiatives taken for the smooth re-constitution of new LWCC.

NAFO outgoing students for the year 2017, Anamika Anilkumar, Ashwin Anilkumar Pillai, Madumitha Venugopal Thadathil, Shriya Rajagopal and Ganesh Jayaprakash were also honored with NAFO gold medals and appreciation certificates, officials and senior members of NAFO family. After receiving NAFO honors and appreciations, all students thanked NAFO for having provided them with a strong platform to improve their extracurricular skills and personal abilities. While felicitating the outgoing students, Vijay Karayil (NAFO Patron), Dr. Prasad Nair (NAFO Advisory Board), and Jayalakshmi Pramod (New Chief Co-ordinator - Ladies Wing) reminded them about their future challenges, duties and responsibilities, and wished all of them a bright and prosperous future. M.S Nair briefed the objectives of instituting the Gold Medals for NAFO out-going students and thanked Dr. T.A. Remesh, NAFO Life Member for the support provided in memorial of his Late Mother Smt. Leela P. Nair, w/o Late Advt. Thadippuzha Anandadas. Joint Secretary Anish Nair co-ordinated this segment by reading the brief profile of each student with a power point presentation.

NAFO meritorious students of Class X, Arjun Rajasekharan, Athira Raviprasad, Anupama Dileepkumar, Gayatri Madhu Nair, Parvathy Sudheer Nair, Vani D. Nair and Vrischika Vinayan Nair of NAFO family were honored with NAFO medals, Merit certificates and Gifts for their exemplary achievement.

Few former award recipients, now employed in Kuwait after their higher studies, shared their experiences with audience which was a true inspiration for the attendees especially the out-going students of the year.

Advisory Board member B.S. Pillai, delivered an inspirational speech on the proposed radical changes in NAFO’s upcoming activities and functionalities without deviating from its professed vision and mission ideologies. General Secretary elaborated the gathering with the upcoming events and recent activities of NAFO. Several valuable suggestions and opinions were raised in the Open Forum by the members present in the meeting. A fruitful interaction among NAFO families was the highlight of the event. NAFO Vice-President, Sreekumar Pillai, thanked one and all for their inspiring and enthusiastic participation. The event concluded with a delicious dinner and a musical program by D’LITES-Kuwait.
