Ministry to track medical errors in private hospitals

The Ministry of Health approved new regulations that would allow it to have ‘strict supervision’ to prevent medical errors in private hospitals and clinics, local Arabic daily Al-Anbaa reported.

According to report, the ministry informed private medical facilities that they are required to report back any case in which a patient is sent to a public hospital, which might indicate that negligence was involved. This would allow investigations to take place and determine whether or not medical errors took place.
