The official agent of Volvo Cars in Kuwait, Al-Qurain Automotive Trading Company, held a special gala event in celebration of the National and Liberation Days at its showroom in Shuwaikh on Sunday, February 21, 2016

The event, aimed at providing the customers a memorable occasion, saw the unveiling of the latest rollout from the stables of the Swedish car manufacturer – the brand new XC90. The main highlight of the event was a scintillating performance commemorating

Kuwait’s National and Liberation Days that had the guests in awe.

The master of the ceremony and Marketing Manager of Volvo cars in Kuwait, Hanan Abdulrahman Al-Motawaa, added charm to the show with her fluent and graceful presentation. She welcomed the guests and thanked the Volvo team for “organizing such a

wonderful event.” She also thanked the Kuwait market for the support and trust given to the brand, and she reiterated the company’s promise to the customers of bringing the latest and best solutions suitable to the regional needs.
The XC90, Hanan added, is a fulfilment of that promise, “which has a variety of features designed to give customers a new and a more enhanced driving experience.”

Manager of Volvo Automobiles, Kuwait, Thamer Ahmed Al-Ayoub, delivered the welcome speech, followed by an enlightening talk by the company CEO, Ahmed Abdul Aziz Al Ali Al-Motawaa, about the brand and its vision for 2020. His emphasis on accident- and

fatality-free roads in future was deeply inspiring.

Moreover guests were taken through the various features of the XC90 by explaining why the specimen truly belongs to the future. The XC90 is a handsome, square-jawed Swede providing more efficiency and safety than its rivals while adding a dose of Scandinavian

flair. Its 2.0-liter four-cylinder uses turbocharging and supercharging to create 316 hp and drives all four wheels through an eight-speed automatic. An 80-hp electric motor joins the party in plug-in hybrid models. There’s room for seven in the handsomely appointed

interior, with deeply comfortable seats as well as Sensus, Volvo’s new infotainment system, which combine state-of-the art information and entertainment. A built-in hotspot ensures that XC90 is always connected.

The guests were entertained with fun activities, giveaways, surprise gifts and a live music band. However, the overall theme remained loyal to the patriotic occasion. The event was organized by Eventique KW, an event-management team run by young Kuwaiti ladies.

This team was particularly chosen to organize the event for their love of cars and their belief in the brand.

The event attracted many young Kuwaiti women, who gathered to be part of the project titled, I Own My Choice, run by Eventique KW with the aim of encouraging the younger generation from all walks of life to get involved in community building exercises.
