INDIA-2025

"You have to dream before your dreams can come true."
-Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam

India is a nation with a glorious past and a comparatively rough present. However, it is up to the people of the nation to decide its future.

The truth is, even by 2025, India will not reach its full potential, only because India’s potential is limitless. There are but many thoughts that come to one's mind with India 2025, and I have penned mine down while categorizing them.

1.The Citizens of India

I envision an India with a whopping 100% literacy rate. Majority of the citizens will be APL-Above Poverty Line. Unemployment will be curbed and the workforce will be productive. The people of India will be physically fit and well nourished. Also, the youth will hold the reins of the chariot of development. No worries there though, because even today, India has a young and expanding workforce, who are goal oriented.

For a strong India 2025, Indians will have to be aware of their rights and be the makers as well as the caretakers of the different projects and policies. They will have to exercise their power as the people of the largest democracy to keep the nation on the right track, whilst being up to date with all the happenings in and out of town.

Just as Indians stand united today, so will they remain united tomorrow. Peace is maintained in our secular nation today mainly because all religions and castes are equally represented and respected.

2. Infrastructure and Industrial Development

Infrastructure is the backbone of the economy of a country. Towers of steel will bank the clean roads. The roadways and railways will ensure that no place in India is out of reach. Electricity and other basic necessities such as food and shelter shall not be denied to any Indian. Whilst we continue to scrape the skies, we shall also deepen our roots with the earth. Mother nature will be brought back to her past glory by 2025 through afforestation and green drives.

With the new Make in India policy, the future is bright for India. Definitely, by 2025, the industries will be flourishing multifold. In fact, economic experts say that India is likely to be an economic powerhouse by 2025.

3. Educational System

The brain drain will cease, as the proper resources for educational research will be provided at home. The educational system will be revamped while keeping the approach to theory intact and introducing an application based curriculum.

4.Science and Technology

In 2025, India, the techno-giant will be brimming with brighter minds. Our advancements in the field of science and technology would have aided our nation in reaching out to outer space. In fact, leading Indian scientists have already hinted that India's Manned Space Mission is on its way in the near future, possibly by 2021.

5.Agriculture

India is an agro-based nation. Today, our limited land resources are increasingly pressurized to maximize yield. In the process, the land is losing its fertility. Meanwhile, more and more trees are being cut down to increase area under cultivation. Hopefully by 2025 after continuous research in the said field, Indians would have found a way to maximize output and optimize storage while making peace with Mother Nature.

6.Marine Research

Being a peninsula, India can utilize its positional advantage by delving deeper and deeper into the seas to unlock its mysteries.

7.Business

The budding entrepreneurs of India will set the wheel of fortune rolling through SME’s. India will be one of the leaders of the international stock markets. The Indian rupee shall stay strong for the foreseeable future (this is bad for the NRI's!). India will undertake new ventures and it will become business-savvy by 2025. New trade routes and opportunities will be effectively made use of by India.

8.National Leaders

Corruption will be eradicated from the face of India by 2025. The government officials shall respect their duties and abstain from any illegal activity whatsoever, respond to the queries of the Indians and relay the latest updates in national policies to the citizens.

9.International Standing

India will be a dominant international player and will have established amicable relationships with most countries by 2025. It will play an active role in international organizations, in both policy setting and decision-making. India will be recognized as a permanent member in the UN Security Council.

It is nice to be able to dream of such perfection, but how much of it is actually attained yet? And if it has not been achieved so far, is it possible for India to finally attain the status of a DEVELOPED NATION?
.
.
.
Yes!

Such drastic change cannot happen overnight. That being said, India is on its way up the rugged mountain of development.

India is to achieve 80% literacy rate by the end of this year, as compared to a 73% in 2011. The Government has already taken steps to mitigate corruption and strengthen international ties. It is also conducting programs to remind the citizens of the constitutional rights they are entitled to.

The people of a nation are the barometer of its development. Therefore, it is the "janata" or the people of India who have to shoulder the responsibility of transforming VISION-INDIA 2025 into REALITY. They can do so by:

-Not littering the roads
-Showing interest in politics
-Encouraging fellow Indians over their success in science and commerce projects
-Not only participating but also organizing social welfare programs
-Being a part of NGOs and other voluntary organizations
-Respecting other religions and people
-FEELING PROUD TO BE INDIANS

If we Indians truly work hand in hand towards a better India, by 2025, India will be a flourishing developed nation and set an example for other countries to follow.

JAI HIND!
