Master blaster plans to quit cricket

Sachin ramesh tendulkar was born on April 24, 1973, in Mumbai.The masterblaster stepped into indian cricket in 1989 against Pakistan in Karachi.Tendulkar was 187th player to don Indian test cricket.From childhood itself he had a keen passion towards cricket.He served as the backbone of our cricket team for years and has made our country proud all around the world.he is a world wide honoured cricket player .

He was 11 years old when he was given his first cricket bat and his talent in the sport was immediately apparent. At the age of 14 he scored 329 out of a world record stand of 664 in a school match. As his accomplishments grew, he became a sort of cult figure among Bombay schoolboys.

Tendulkar was just 23 when he was named captain of his country's team for the 1996 World Cup. While the tournament proved to be a disappointment for his club, Tendulkar did nothing to diminish his own standing as one of the world's dominant players. He finished out the World Cup as the event's top scorer.

Tendulkar's dominance of his sport has continued, even as he's moved well into his thirties. He scored his record-breaking 35th century in Test play in December 2005 in a match against Sri Lanka. In June 2007 he set another mark when he became the first player to record 15,000 runs in one-day international play. In January 2010 he again moved into the record books when became the first batsman to score 13,000 runs in Test play.

• 2010: LG People's Choice Award
• 2010: ICC Cricketer of the year - Highest award in the ICC listings
• 2010 - Sports Icon of the Year for 21 years at the NDTV Indian of the Year Awards
• 2010 - One of the world's 100 most influential people in "The 2010 TIME 100" poll by Time magazine
• 2004, 2007 and 2010: ICC World ODI XI
• 2009, 2010 and 2011: ICC World Test XI
• 1997, 2010 and 2012: Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World
• Sachin has won a record 16 Man of the Series and 62 Man of the Match awards in ODI Matches
• Sachin has the distinction of having won Man of the Match Award against all ICC Full Members (Test Playing Nations)

Sachin recenltly informed the BCCI about his decision to quit Test cricket after a glorious career spanning 24 years.

He said :-
"All my life, I have had a dream of playing cricket for India. I have been living this dream every day for the last 24 years. It's hard for me to imagine a life without playing cricket because it's all I have ever done since I was 11 years old.
It's been a huge honour to have represented my country and played all over the world. I look forward to playing my 200th Test Match on home soil, as I call it a day,"

Tendulkar, is expected to play his 199th and landmark 200th Test match against the West Indies next month and the matches are scheduled for November 6-10 and 14-18.Indian team without Sachin is just like Paris without Eiffel tower.
