World Hindi Day was celebrated at the Indian Embassy in Kuwait on Friday, January 10th with a variety of programs in Hindi language. On the occasion, Ambassador Dr Adarsh Swaika, read out the message delivered by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Ambassador also highlighted the various efforts in Kuwait to promote Hindi language including the half an hour Hindi program in Kuwait Radio and the memorandum of understanding signed by GUST University to each Hindi language as part of their curriculum.
A host of speakers who spoke on the occasion shed light on the importance of the Hindi language in today’s world. The event was attended by large number of school students, Hindi teachers, Principals of various Indian schools and community members. Students from various schools performed cultural programs also during the event.
Popular Kuwaiti singer Mubarak Al Rashid entertained the audience with evergreen Indian patriotic song in Hindi 'Mere Desh Ki Dharti' as part of the celebrations.
Embassy also facilitated Kuwaiti nationals who participated in the Hindi Speech contest organised by the Embassy on its social media. The winners of various Hindi competition were also facilitated during the event.
