United Karnataka Associations of Kuwait appeal Indian Government to arrange repatriation flights to Karnataka soon

Friday, May 22, 2020

In the wake of COVID-19 pandemic, various Karnataka Associations in Kuwait came together under the banner ‘United Karnataka Associations of Kuwait’ and appealed to union minister Sri Suresh Angadi (Minister of Railways of India) in a video conference initiated by KKMA on 19th May 2020.

KKMA Karnataka unit President, S. Mohd Azhar briefed the minister about the current situation and difficulties of stranded Kannadigas in Kuwait who want to return back to their native place and also problems faced by the people who have availed amnesty. He urged the minister to talk to the concerned and arrange immediate flights to repatriate stranded kannadigas to Mangalore and Bangalore at the earliest as many pregnant ladies, patients, people on expired visas, people who lost jobs, desperate to reach India.

Ramesh Bhandary, President, Tulu Koota Kuwait stressed on forming a State sponsored Non Resident Kannadigas Affairs department or forum (similar to Norka by Kerala Govt.) solely administered by the government of Karnataka which enables NRI Kannadigas to avail all the necessary facilities from the government.

Guruprasad Hegde, President, Buntara Sangha, asked the minister about the evacuation plans prepared by the Indian government inline with Kuwait Embassy repatriation registrations. Lathief Shedia from KKMA Karnataka unit highlighted to the minister about the problems faced by kannadigas. He informed that about 50,000 kannadigas reside in Kuwait and about 2000 have registered in Indian Embassy. Out of which 600 people need immediate repatriation due to above mentioned problems.

On behalf of United Karnataka Associations of Kuwait a memorandum was submitted to the honorable minister. Honorable minister listened to the issues put forward very seriously and assured a quick solution.

Hameed Kulyar, a prominent businessman in Kuwait requested the minister to arrange flights to Karnataka at the earliest possible, so that he can send his 600 stranded staff by paying their tickets.

Rajesh Vittal, President of Kuwait Kannada Koota; Abdul Naser Khan, President of Karnataka Muslim Welfare Association; Krishna Poojari, President of Billava Sanga Kuwait, Stevan Rego Ex-President of Kuwait Canara Welfare Association and office bearers of KKMA Karnataka unit, Iqbal, Abdul Jabbar, S. M. Farook and General Secretary Yusuf Muniyam also attended the video conference.

Dear Viewers.

NRI stands for Non Required Indians.

India means Kerala - Kerala means India. From the first of Vande Bharath Mission I found many flights from all over the world to Kerala Only. What is the reason behind of this arrangement I can''t understand, even Indigo airlines arranged 23 flights in the vande bharat mission phase 3 as well as 2 & 1 80% of the flights are routed to Kerala only. I found some cases who didn''t even registered their names in Indian Mission got the flight ticket how I don''t know. The way of working is not at all understandable during these days.

The priority of the passenger is given clearly but not at all followed by them, recently many passengers travelled who even not eligible in the criteria. I think most of the passengers are got the flight confirmation through WAASTA.

I don''t know your experience but some malfunctions are going on.

Let me know your experience.

Is Portugal the only country in the world? The world is our oyster. If one has the language and skills except HATE you can go anywhere. Anyway, stay obsessed it will not take you any higher. Hate results in nothing.

Jealous people like to joke about what they don''t have. You should not be upset but flattered that they passed such comments. Unless maybe you still did not get Portuguese passport? If you did not get, apply today !!

@drake the fake
Nobody care what you ask and what you want, so firstly don''t ask posters to mind their business. You are nobody to question who is true Indian. Anybody can post their views & reply to a post.
Don''t try to change your music and say ''our Indian bros'' & ''goa belong to India'' when you it was you who 1st posted anti-India comments & said ''Brits didn''''t leave anything for you''ll coz they know the kind of backstabbers you people are. For today, you people are questioning the credentials of MK Gandhi too.''
What do you mean by this statement??
All major cities get priority and Goa is not more major compared to Bombay. Frankly, I don''t think many goans want to go back because they know what job is waiting for them - fish market & housekeeping :)
First you showed what is in your heart and now blaming ''you people'' & whole world.

Search this 1st before threatening others:
"Goan, 30, deported from New York over fake job certificate"

Neither did I ask any of your comments and this ain''t the place to show your hate. If you wish to call Goans as Portuguese and the rest of our country has been ruled by British. So what''s the harm. Are you people allowed to mock. Goa belongs to India, no goan gives a hoot to haters like you''ll who talk otherwise. Shameless people. Be happy with your love than being concerned about others. You ain''t doing anything better for the world than spreading hatred. New upcoming cases like the character deported from Dubai.

Your comments about Britishers and Gandhi is a clear indication of what many residents of Kuwait and many posters know to be true - you Goans are anti-Indian. You people think you are more special than others and you deserve special status. Many Goans willingly state that India is not their country and they are Portuguese. You are a nobody and have no right to tell people what to do.

@Anand
If you know how to find the correct information then you will know all the points I have noted are correct. You have just exposed the kind of person you are by admitting that looting others is something to be proud of. Barking dogs (like yourself) don''t know how to bite, only make noise.

As Original Bajrangi Bhaijan pointed out, these associations are only trying to gain cheap publicity during this difficult times. I hope the Kuwait authorities take strong action to shut them down. Example of their lies below:

The earlier article dated 18th May 2020 mentioned "about 50,000 Kannadigas living in Kuwait and requested early repatriation of them affected by COVID-19 pandemic."
(https://www.indiansinkuwait.com/news/Union-Minister-promise-to-arrange-flight-from-Kuwait-for-people-of-Karnataka/)

This article states "600 people need immediate repatriation"

It is clear these people are liars. Indian Embassy has already proved them cheaters and thieves by cancelling these associations nearly 1 year back. Please stop these thieves immediately.

These people are good for starting associations only. What happened to ''Union Minister promise to arrange flight from Kuwait for people of Karnataka within 10 days'' posted 4 days ago?
(https://www.indiansinkuwait.com/news/Union-Minister-promise-to-arrange-flight-from-Kuwait-for-people-of-Karnataka/)

In Kuwait only all this naatak and bullshitting can be done. When they try to get things done in the motherland they come to know the real meaning of wasta which they don''t have and all are proved impotent. They need real diplomatic contacts inside the Central Govt. which they don''t have. They think Indian govt. cares about their association and suit and polish. As many people have stated, ALL INDIANS HAVE SAME STATUS OUTSIDE INDIA.
When ex-ambassador HE K. Jeeva Sagar wanted to deregister more than 200 affiliations of these useless associations, these people filed petition in Delhi High Court. Several Indian associations have sprung up over the years and many claim to represent various communities contrary to facts. Members of Indian associations hardly comprise 5% of the total Indian population and mostly leverage their positions for personal benefit. The Indian embassy was quick to identify inactivity, misuse of position by office bearers, violation of Constitution, vested interests and various unethical activities that these associations encouraged.
Kannadigas are not more special than all other Indians. If someone truly want to represent the plight of expats in Kuwait, they should stand for all states and not only their own hometown. I hope new Indian ambassador HE Sibi George makes this point abundantly clear to all these associations who have taken money from so many members & sponsorship from various companies with the promise of special privileges and access for their community WHICH IS ABSOLUTELY WRONG AND ILLEGAL !!
At the very least, they can request Indian govt. (if they have real contacts which they don''t) to reopen all existing flight paths to main cities in whole of India including North, South, East and West and then evaluate the applications requesting passage to these cities.
