The Criminal Security Sector arrested two persons, a Kuwaiti and a stateless person, and seized a large quantity of psychotropic substances and drugs, in addition to a number of firearms and ammunition. They were seized from a desert area in the north of the country.

Upon a thorough investigation of the area, 150,000 psychotropic tablets (Lyrica and Captagon) were found, as well as a kilo of hashish, and 4 firearms and ammunition.

The accused and the seized items were referred to the Public Prosecution to take the necessary legal measures against them.

The Ministry of Interior affirms that the security services will continue to be vigilant in protecting society and preserving its security and safety from the danger of drugs, and calls on everyone to cooperate with the security forces and immediately report any suspicious activities via the emergency phone “112” or the hotline of the General Department for Combating Narcotics “1884141”.
