The General Traffic Department has begun installing new cameras, which automatically monitor violations related to not wearing a seat belt and using a mobile phone while driving.
According to reports, General Traffic Department will install around 298 such cameras, which automatically detect seat belt violations and mobile phone use. The cameras that have been installed currently have been officially activated and linked to the traffic operations room.
The violations detected by the new cameras are immediately referred to the vehicle owner and will be transferred via the Sahel app to the vehicle owner.
