The Operations and Traffic Sector, represented by the General Department of Rescue Police and the General Traffic Department, has released its weekly statistics, reporting 15,475 traffic violations, including 33 for parking in spots reserved for people with disabilities. These figures reflect ongoing efforts to regulate traffic and enforce the law across the country’s roads and intersections.
Authorities also dealt with 1,495 traffic accidents, including 175 that resulted in injuries, and responded to 3,630 traffic and security-related reports. In addition, 589 individuals were arrested for criminal and civil offenses, violations of residency and labor laws, and drug-related cases. Those arrested included four drug users and a mobile vendor.
The report further noted the seizure of 137 wanted vehicles and the impounding of 35 cars and motorcycles due to serious violations. Nine public quarrels were also handled and referred to the concerned police stations. The weekly operations reflect the sector's ongoing commitment to public safety and law enforcement.
