Kindness is contagious, isn’t it true?….it’s the language that is universal…as its rightly said ‘Kindness is something which the deaf can her and blind can see’…I kept pondering over this quote again and again. Now let’s imagine a world where everyone spoke in this language, world where kindness is the common thread connecting us all. Kindness is something that’s as simple as a smile, but as powerful as a storm. Just pause and think for once, Why do we always wait for things to go wrong before we realize how important kindness is? Why do we always wait for everything to fall apart when the solution is right here, right now! We should refrain from holding back from being kind because showing empathy, spreading love and being there for others makes the world a far better place. So, go on and be kind and see how it makes everything around you shine. Kindness isn’t just a nice thing to do, it’s a powerful force - a force that can heal, unite and change lives in ways we cannot even imagine! So, why are we ignoring it? Why aren’t we using it more and more? Kindness isn’t something to be ashamed of…it’s the superpower we all have within us! It's not about grand gestures, it’s about the small everyday acts that truly matter. So, let’s remember, kindness isn’t a weakness, it’s a strength, it’s a quiet force that brings us together making the world a little brighter. One small act at a time is more than enough. So, lets embrace it, live it and spread it! In a world where you can be anything, be kind BECAUSE it’s the coolest thing you can be! Be the reason why someone believes in the goodness of people. Talking about kindness, I have my own moments to share. It was one such busy morning, my dad was out of Kuwait and my mom had to drop my younger sister to a class. We stopped by a stationery shop as she wanted some things urgently for her class. After buying the items and we were about to pay, we realized that my Mom forgot to carry cash and the shop said they cannot accept card as their machine isn’t working. We were running out of time and there was no way we could find any other shop nearby or go home and get cash. Till then, there was a old grandpa who was watching us and we had exchanged a few smiles while we were shopping in the shop. He happily insisted to pay and was so kind to offer us to drop us to my sister’s class. That evening we met his family too when we visited them to pay the money back. It goes without saying that we still meet often, speak to him and spend time together during weekends and are good family friends. It takes nothing to be kind, just a willing heart!
One more incident, last year when I visited my grandparents, I saw a dog with 5 puppies and since it as raining it had no space to keep the puppies. Others refused to give space as the puppies made a lot of noise at nights and this would disturb their sleep. I was so much in love with the adorable puppies that I somehow convinced my grandparents to keep them and feed them regularly. After about 45 days, it was time for me to leave and travel back to Kuwait. The bonding was so strong that both the puppies and me found it difficult to go through. My younger sister was little and insisted we get it to Kuwait. Finally when we were all set to leave, the dog came running behind our car almost 2 kms and it was heart breaking to see this. The puppies refused to eat for almost 1 whole day when my grandma fed them. One small act of kindness led to the loving bond between us and I was awestruck to see that even animals respond to emotions. This was a profound lesson I learnt and amount of joy we get when we spill kindness around is something incredible and beyond words.
AND REMEMBER- There are three things that are most important in life, as rightly quoted by Henry James- TO BE KIND, TO BE KIND and TO BE KIND!
When you have a choice between being kind or being right, always choose to be kind says Dr. Wayne Dyre.
Whenever you think of kindness, you cannot stop thinking about these famous personalities like- Mother Theresa, a global symbol for compassion and service to poor. Next comes, Princess Diana- known for her empathy and humanitarian work. And not to forget, Mrs Sudha Murthy Mr Ratan Tata... they all served and are known for their epitome of kindness. For all the youth and readers out there - Let’s all commit to stick to kindness, come what may!
