The least number of NRIs returned to India during Covid time is from Kuwait

The least number of NRIs returned from GCC countries during the Covid pandemic last year is from Kuwait, Indian Ambassador Shri Sibi George said. The support given to the community members by many community associations and social workers in Kuwait during the hard time was a great relief for many and helped them stay back in Kuwait during their hard time, Ambassador said. He was speaking while inaugurating the 22nd anniversary of Saradhi Kuwait, "Saradheeyam 2021".

The role played by our health workers during the pandemic is stupendous, he said. Many associations played a key role in supporting the community in many forms, he said.

Ambassador also urged all Indians in Kuwait to invite at least one Kuwaiti friend to visit India in the coming years.

Ambassador presented 'Dr Palpu Nethruyoga award' for selected community workers and 'Dr Palpu Karmayoga award' for health workers for their tremendous community support during the Covid pandemic last year.

Shri Suresh KP, Dr Amir Ahmad, Shri Babuji Batheri, Shri Sharafudeen Kanneth were presented with 'Dr Palpu Nethruyoga award' while Shri Ajith Kumar, Shri Lio Jose, Shri Abdul Sageer, Shri Prathap Chandran, Shri Raghubal were presented with 'Dr Palpu Karmayoga award'. Shri Vijesh Velayudhan, Shri Mejith and Smt Jitha Manoj were presented with 'Dr Palpu Ayuryoga Award' during the event.

Saradhi President Shri Sajeev Narayanan, Biju Ganghadharan, CV Biju, Mathew Varghese, Suresh Kochath, K Suresh, Bindu Sajeev, Alka Omanakuttan and Rajeesh Mullacka were present during the ceremony.
