The Standing Rock in Our Life.

The Standing Rock in Our Life.

“You were my strength when I was weak ,

you were there when I was in need,

you took me by the hand and said you would do whatever you could to protect me.

You were my voice when I couldn’t speak ,

You were my eyes when I couldn’t see ,

You saw the best there was in me,

You forgave me when I went astray.

You were, are and will always me my shining knight,

The rock on which I will always stand , and rise to make you proud,

Cause I will love you always and forever.”

"Directly after God in heaven comes a Father.”

Years ago God made a woman and a man, and after that gifted this man with a child and this man swore that until this child is ready to face the world alone he would nurture this child and would always love it no matter what.

He would correct this child whenever necessary , encourage it whenever needed, guide it along the right path whenever it went astray and most of all try and be it’s best friend forever. He took an ought never to make it cry and never let this child down, because all this infant had was him and no one else.

But then this child or this infant, you could say grew up and had it’s own mind to think, no longer did this child need someone else to take the fall for him, neither did this child need him in it’s bad nor good times as he or she were big and mature now and knew how to handle any situation possible, but this man sat there and said “I’ll be there for you whenever you need me and no matter what I will always love you”.

Then one fine day this child grows older and finds someone else he or she can count on and that’s the time this man realizes he is no longer the center of attention to this child, but he accept it and knows no matter what, his child will be there for him whenever needed and will always love him and hence all he can do, he thinks, is hope his child appreciates everything he has done for him or her.

And how often is it that we say thank you to this man for all he has done how often do we say “I love you” well if you’ll do it every single day then good and if not then why not start now?

I know I will, my relationship with my father was very complex but also at the same time very friendly, we weren’t very close but knew that we had each other whenever anything happened, we would fight a lot on issues we both did not have the same opinion of, but also would have fun together doing stuff we both liked, I regret not saying I love you dad a lot, as for this past one and half year I have really realized his importance and have really missed him, as they say “you only the worth of someone or something when it’s not around” , and yes for this past year I have really missed my dad and I can’t wait to meet him and tell him how much I love him , another thing I really miss him for, is that he would always defend me and later on correct me himself he has been my standing rock for these 17 years and will continue to be for the rest of my life.

So yes, dear readers never ever forget how lucky you all are to have a man who has been and will be your spine or should I say standing rock for the rest of your lives.

So let’s all raise our glasses to this man, and celebrate his love for us, to all the fathers around the world a very Happy Father’s Day!
