The surveillance cameras on the Jaber Bridge have been out of work for more than 10 months, local Arabic daily Al-Rai reported. According to Al-Rai report, the cameras stop working due to the failure of the transformer that supplies them with electrical energy.
There are around 470 cameras across the Jaber bridge to monitor the bridge. Ministry of the Interior had reported the failure of cameras to the concerned authorities, however the maintenance is pending, report added. It is also reported that it cost around 40,000 dinars for the maintenance.
