The Meteorology Department has warned that dusty winds and very hot weather will affect Kuwait starting Tuesday and continuing until next Friday. Winds will be strong, especially in open areas, and may reduce visibility to less than 1,000 meters. The maximum temperature during this period is expected to be between 47°C and 49°C, while night temperatures will stay between 31°C and 34°C.
Director of the Meteorology Department, Dharar Al-Ali, explained that this weather is due to the extension of the Indian monsoon depression, bringing in hot, dry northwesterly winds with speeds of 20 to 60 km/h. The winds may raise sea waves above 6 feet, making it dangerous for beachgoers. He advised motorists to drive carefully, especially on highways, and recommended that people with asthma or allergies wear masks when going outside.
