Expatriate workers in Kuwait's private sector must now get an exit permit from their employers before leaving the country.
This new rule, announced by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Fahad Al-Yousef through a ministerial circular, will come into effect starting 1st July 2025.
The Public Authority for Manpower has confirmed that the new exit permit must include the worker’s personal details, travel date, and mode of transportation.
The permit must be submitted online through a special platform. This is to make the process faster, easier, and more accurate.
The Public Authority for Manpower said that this step is meant to better manage and monitor the movement of expat workers. It also aims to keep a fair balance between the rights of both workers and employers.
