
Power consumption in Kuwait climbed to the highest level this season above 17,300 MW on Monday, as temperatures soared to well above 50 degrees Celsius.
Temperature in Jahra was recorded at 52 degrees, while it was 51 degrees in Abdally and Kuwait Airport and 50 degrees in Nuwaiseeb. The meteorological department expected temperatures to drop on Tuesday.
The ministry of electricity and water appealed to consumers to cut consumption, especially during peak hours, adding that it may be forced to implement programmed cuts.
