Plan for Multi-storey boat parking on the waterfront

Kuwait Municipality has prepared an integrated report on the possibility of building a multi-storey parking building for boats near the waterfronts in all governorates. The parking building for boats will also contain facilities for maintenance services, fuel filling and spare parts.

The objectives of the proposal are solving the problem of parking boats in random places inside residential areas. The proposal is also aimed at developing the waterfronts with multi-floor parking for boats at a nominal fee, along with maintenance service, spare parts, and fuel filling.

The sector identified two systems for the project. In first method, mechanical system (Drystack Rack Stoage) will be used where moving equipment such as forklifts are used to lift boats to the upper and ground floors. The building can be closed or open in nature. This system is suitable for boats of small to medium sizes.

As for the second system, it will be according to the automatic dry storage system, which uses an automatic robotic winch, which raises and stops boats automatically at the upper or ground floors. This will be suitable for all sizes of boats.

The proposed locations are Anjafa Beach opposite the Salwa area, Abu Al Hasaniya Beach and Fintas Beach.
