Parliamentary Committee discuss 100 KD fine for not wearing mask

The parliamentary Health Affairs Committee on Wednesday discussed the government’s bill on the prevention of infectious diseases, which stipulates KD 100 fine for not wearing face masks. According to media report, the committee asked the ministry to lighten this penalty.

As per local medai report, only one member of the committee supported the proposed penalty and even demanded for increasing the fine to KD 500.

Ministry briefed the committee on the coronavirus vaccination process, which includes the signing of a contract with American company Pfizer for the procurement of one million doses of the vaccine that will be administered to 500,000 individuals. The ministry also signed a contract through a local agent to obtain three million doses of AstraZeneca vaccine for 1.5 million individuals.

People will be wearing a face mask, if they do not have an amount of KD 100 or KD 500 to pay for not wearing a face mask for public health.

Hefty fines is the best solution for those not wearing mask.
I appreciate that fine amount and should be directly deducted from the very next month salary..
Mostly such Law should be applicable for all Citizens and non-Citizens. But we all know the truth...
