PAM to set up legal offices in lockdown areas to receive labour complaints

Minister of Social Affairs and Minister of State for Economic Affairs Maryam Al-Aqil informed that the Public Authority for Manpower PAM will open temporary offices in the lockdown areas to receive labour complaints in the event of any dispute with the employers or failure to implement labour rights.

Minister Al-Aqel told Kuwait News Agency (KUNA) that an office for the workforce and another affiliated with the General Administration of Investigations in the shelters in the areas of Jleeb Al-Shuyoukh and Farawaniya has been allocated.

Minister said that many complaints led to the detection of companies suspected of human trafficking and legal measures were taken against them.

Definitely a great move to help and protect the rights of blue color professionals. I hope there would be some relief during this pandemic who are struggling like anything. I can see, that these people have come begging in the streets for money to remit back home, as their families are totally dependent on them too.
