The Public Authority for Manpower announced Tuesday that it received 412 Filipino workers after the Philippines' embassy closure of its illegal workers' shelter.

In a press statement, the authority said that it was checking the Filipino workers' documents, in collaboration with the Ministry of Interior, ahead of deporting them.

The authority noted that, upon instructions from the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Talal Khaled Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah, 285 of the received workers had been referred to the Interior Ministry's Deportation Department ahead of deporting them from the country on Wednesday, tomorrow.

It noted that the Philippines embassy would bear the costs of the deportation flights.

The authority pointed out that only 150 of the received workers had valid residency papers where as there were abscond cases filed against 262 of those workers.

It disclosed that legal actions would be taken, in collaboration with the Ministry of Justice, against 130 of those workers over some criminal charges.
