PAM Director General suspended from work for his decision related to expatriates above 60 years

Director General of the Public Authority for Manpower PAM, Ahmed Al-Mousa, was suspended from work by the Minister of Commerce and Industry as part of the investigation against him for issuing a decision to suspend work permits for expatriates aged 60 years and above without university degree. Local Arabic newspapers reported that he was suspended at the request of the investigation committee.

Last year PAM Director General issued a decision to stop renewal of work permits for expatriates above 60 years without university degree. However last week, the Fatwa and Legislation committee said that the decision is illegal and subsequently the decision was cancelled. However a number of expatriates were forced to leave Kuwait earlier as they were unable to renew their work permit.

Friends,
This country simply want to tell on our face, take it or leave it. Residing here now for more than 10years, have seen plenty. This is exactly they wanted as Im sure more thousands would have left by now considering the PAM closed renewing from 1st jan 2021. Main issue is with the insurance for people above 60yrs, what has university degree certificates got to do???? Wondering why all fuss...why not have a proper retirement age in private sectors (like you have in government) 65yrs or 60yrs atleast people know in advance then kicking them out by bringing such decisions. Surely old has not make way for the young but let us give them a minimum respect before they leave/forced to terminate. Covid gave a good opportunity to balance the demographics of Kuwait.....but was this the right way??? Not at all.
Anyways useless writing, take or leave it is final decision.

Amazing country 0f 21st century.
In this country, you can work without university degree till u reach 60 years.
Once you reach 60 years, require university degree to work.
Strange and funny. top management should think about this.
