No increase in capacity for arriving passengers at Kuwait airport

IIK Staff Reporter Sunday, August 1, 2021
No increase in capacity for arriving passengers at Kuwait airport

Even though the vaccinated expatriates are allowed to enter Kuwait from Sunday, Airport traffic will not significantly increase as the number of arrivals is not increased.

The number of arriving passengers per day is still 5000, which is the predetermined number even before expatriates are not allowed to enter. Although earlier DGCA had requested to increase this number to 10000, the request was not approved to date.

According to sources, the number of departing and arriving flights on Sunday, August 1st, will not exceed 95. The majority of the incoming flights are from Turkey, Dubai and Doha.

The agencies operating at the airport, including civil aviation, interior, health, customs and ground services companies, are fully prepared to receive arrivals starting from Sunday; there will not be much noticeable change in the numbers compared to July as arrival is fixed at 5000 passengers per day.

Not increasing the daily arrival limit also increases the flight tickets as flights have limitations in accepting the passengers for arrival to Kuwait.
