No extension for visa expired after Sept 1

Expatriates whose residencies expired on or after Sept 1, 2020, are not eligible to get the grace extension period given till the end of Nov 2020.

Earlier, Kuwait government had given grace period till the end of November for those who couldn't renew their residency from March till the end of August 2020 due to the closure of government offices as part of corona lockdown. However, local daily Al Anba, quoting sources, reported that those whose visas expired starting Sept 1 would be fined KD 2 a day unless they apply at a residency affairs department to get extensions.

According to the source, expats whose visas expired on Sept 1 have no excuse for not renewing them, especially since residency affairs departments had started receiving the public by the end of June.
