On 15th August 1947 India acknowledged freedom after 300 years of British rule. Every year, we rejoice this day as a souvenir of the struggle of all our soldiers and our boundless freedom fighters. It is an auspicious day for all Indians to outlook proud and say that they fought for freedom and earned it. On this day, schools, colleges, universities hoist our Indian National flag with pride over guises on all tiny tots. Correspondingly, on the late midnight of August 15th 1947 Jawaharlal Nehru spoke his mind to India and hoisted our Indian National Flag with a noteworthy beam on his look. The credit goes to the great spirits alike Mahatma Gandhi, Nana Saheb, Vir Kunwar Singh, Jawaharlal Nehru, Subash Chandra Bose, Bhagat Singh, Sarojini Naidu, Tantia Tope, Rani Lakshmibai and many others whose names aren’t famous but who were equivalent warriors just like them, they all are ceaseless freedom fighters for our country because of whom we live a passable life after the assailing from EIC and now we need not to cringe to them. From a skirmish it went to a fight and then our emotions started pounding for freedom.
The liberty which we are experiencing at the moment comes from the sacrifice of our aristocratic and plebeian background. If it wasn’t for their sacrifice, we wouldn’t done it till here. Subsequently with time, we adopted our tiranga, a tricolor which defines India.
India’s tiranga or flag is a tricolor with saffron at the top, white in the middle and India green at the bottom with the Ashoka Chakra, a 24-spoke wheel, in navy blue at its center. Our flag was designed by Pingali Venkayya who was once a freedom fighter and who died in poverty in 1963 after being largely forgotten by the society and by his own party, the Congress. He designed our Indian National flag in the mark of strength and courage of the country which is indicated by the saffron color, the white middle band indicates peace and truth with the Dharma Chakra, the last band is green in color which shows the fertility, growth and auspiciousness of the land. Once designing the flag was completed, it was finalized by a Hyderabadi Muslim women named Surayya Tyabji and after that it was adopted by the Constituent Assembly on 27th July 1947 just a few days before India sensed Independence. On August 15th 1947, the day we obtained freedom, our flag was declared as the Indian National Flag. The flag was afterwards recalled as the Republic of India.
In case, if we wonder the importance of our Indian National Flag, I can come out by saying our Tiranga is what describes our country. Without a flag, our country will be incomplete. Just like the way, how our cloths determine our personality, in the same way our Tiranga is the self-respect of India. As time passed, we penned down the Indian constitution which was concocted by the Constituent Assembly. Ultimately, we are free from all sides. Just like me there are million other Indians, who are proud of their nation struggle. Be proud to be an Indian.
Don’t cringe, the time is gone
Enjoy the present, it’s the Shaun
Raise your head proud,
We fought the aghast
Never forget your past,
Since we were warriors not survivors.
