Municipality Cracks Down on Illegal Bachelor Housing in Residential Areas

Kuwait Municipality has disconnected electricity to five properties in Rumaithiya, Salwa, and Salmiya for illegally housing bachelors in residential zones. The action was part of an ongoing inspection campaign led by the Engineering Audit and Follow-up Department in Hawalli Governorate, in cooperation with the Ministry of Electricity and Water and the Ministry of Interior. These field visits are carried out as per a scheduled plan aimed at enforcing housing regulations and preserving the residential nature of family neighborhoods.

Authorities urged citizens and residents to report similar violations to help curb this practice. Reports can be made via the Municipality's hotline at 139, WhatsApp at 24727732, or by submitting a written complaint to the local municipal branch. The initiative aligns with legal provisions prohibiting bachelor accommodations in designated family residential areas, reinforcing community safety and order.
