Move to increase electricity and water tariffs by 50 percent

The electricity and water ministry has prepared an executive study to hike electricity and water tariffs by 50 percent, local daily Kuwait Times reported. According to report, the hike will be implemented this year upon the approval of the National Assembly.

However, citizens will be excluded from this increase in their private homes, while their investment and commercial properties will be subject to the increases, reported added.

How can any country charge only one section of people? Where is the justice in this? Very disappointing.

Already Ministry of Health imposed extra 2+5=7KD on expatriates to visit poly clinics, even though MOH is already charging health Insurance from all expatriates. 50% Price increase in Electricity and Water will result hike in flat rents and increase on all goods, which will be unbearable for majority expatriates. Price increase in every service should be gradual and minimal so that expatriates salaries can be adjusted with employers.
