Mortal remains of 45 Indians transported to India in IAF aircraft

A special C-130J transport aircraft of Indian Air Force left Kuwait carrying the mortal remains of 45 Indian victims in the fire incident in Kuwait. The aircraft is expected to reach Kochi in Kerala by Friday 10:30 Indian time as most of the victims belong to the State. The remains of 23 Keralites, 7 from Tamil Nadu and one from Karnataka will be brought down at Kochi airport. The aircraft will then go to Delhi to transport the remains of Indians from other states.

Union Minister of State External Affairs Kirti Vardhan Singh, who coordinated with Kuwaiti authorities ensuring swift repatriation, is onboard the aircraft.

As many as twenty-three residents of Kerala were among 45 Indians who died in the fire incident here on Wednesday.

Minister of State for External Affairs of India, Kirti Vardhan Singh on June 13, visited hospitals in Kuwait, where he interacted with Indian nationals undergoing treatment following the tragic fire incident in Mangaf.
