MoI launches vehicle ownership transfer via Sahel app

The Ministry of Interior launched the "Vehicle Ownership Transfer" service via the Sahel application. Within the framework of the Ministry's vision to enhance the digital transformation of services, this new initiative will save the time and effort by completing the process electronically on Sahel app around the clock, seven days a week.

The mechanism for the vehicle ownership transfer requires the seller to enter the 'Services' menu and select the 'Ministry of Interior' box, then 'Traffic Services', then select the 'Vehicle Ownership Transfer' service and submit a new request. The seller must specify the vehicle details and enter the civil number of the new owner. A notification will be sent to the new owner in his Sahel app.

After that, the new owner must open the notification and agree to the procedures for requesting the transfer of vehicle ownership and pay the insurance document transfer fees to send a notification to the seller.

Then the seller must open a notification to upload proof that he received the price of the vehicle and paid the ownership transfer fees to send a notification to the buyer. The buyer, then open the notification to download the new electronic vehicle license that has become his property, then upload the new vehicle license to "Kuwait Mobile ID application" digital wallet.

The Ministry of Interior confirmed that it is continuing to work on digitizing its services and developing its systems in a manner consistent with its vision of providing distinguished government services that are easy to access and implement.

The Sahel App can be turned into English. Just open the Sahel App in Arabic and minimize it. If you have Android phone, go to Languages and add an additional English Language (Choose English UK or Indian) and select that as phone language. The return to Sahel app which was minimized. It will automatically turn into English.

Since the majority of business language in Kuwait is English—except for the ministry—it would be beneficial to have the app available in both English and Arabic. This bilingual support would enhance usability and accessibility for all users, ensuring that everyone can navigate the app effectively.
