Minister inaugurated new control room; 436 cameras to monitor traffic

First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Retired Lieutenant-General Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah inaugurated the Traffic Operations Department building in Ahmadi Governorate.

Sheikh Ahmad Nawaf stressed that the Ministry of Interior sectors seek to provide the best level of security services in accordance with the latest technological systems by relying on the latest training programs in preparing, qualifying and training human cadres, including military and civilians, and raising their capabilities which helps in achieving the goal and ensuring the quality of services related to the traffic sector.

The Interior Minister Sheikh Ahmad Al-Nawaf inspected the building, its facilities and listened to a detailed explanation of the departments it contains. He then inaugurated the Traffic Operations Room and the Central Control Room Unit, and inspected the surveillance cameras division inside the patrols. He was briefed on the newly developed work mechanism in the central control operations room, traffic monitoring cameras, follow-up of traffic on the main road and traffic intersections, and the mechanism for recording indirect violations through traffic monitoring cameras.

The new building control and monitor 436 cameras around the clock through screens that are monitored by specialists. 20 of which have been distributed to Abdali, Fahaheel, Doha link and Jaber Bridge, in addition to placing 161 cameras at traffic lights and 237 cameras fixed on highways.
