On May 12th, the Kuwait Kannada Koota organized a beautiful cultural program called "Marala Mallige," a grand event that showcased the talent and creativity of its members. The program, with this year’s title "Pratibha Kaaranji; Srujanotsava", is organized annually by the Malala Mallige Committee with the objective of providing a platform to exhibit the skills and artistic abilities of the members.
The Public Relations Committee Convenor, Mrs. Sumitra Krishnamurthy Gowda, and her team created an impressive reception area designed with a Gurukula theme, which received praise from all attendees. The program commenced with a traditional prayer song and the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, performed by Mr. Ramachandran (President of the Executive Committee), Mr. Raghavendra Bhat (Vice President), and Mr. Hemant Gowda (Treasurer). Unfortunately, Secretary Mr. Karthik Gowda could not attend as he had traveled to India for an important work. During his introductory speech, Vice President Mr. Raghavendra Bhat launched various competitions and activities. These included engaging competitions like painting, patriotic song singing by children, folk dance performances, and the popular "Cook and talk" competition for women. There was also a very active participation in Kannada language and literature-based competitions, such as "word chain" and "word matching," which tested the knowledge of the members.
Dr. Azad, the Marala Mallige Committee convener, along with his team, presented the "Marala Mallige" magazine through a beautiful short skit. The magazine release program was conducted by President Sri Ramachandran, accompanied by the members of the Executive Committee present on the stage. The event also featured entertaining comedy dramas, which provided a lot of laughter with their puranic style dialogues.
Following the distribution of prizes to the competition winners, Mrs. Savita Hemant Gowda delivered a “vote of thanks” speech. To conclude the event, a delicious dinner was served, much to the delight of all attendees.
Shri Vinod Kumar, Regional Head of JoyAlukkas Jewellery, and representatives from other sponsors, including, Total Environment Building Systems, Land Trades, Al Mulla
