Mama Priya Samskrutha Adhyapakow

Samskrita Bharathi conducted a Spoken Sanskrit workshop for 10 days to inculcate skills in Sanskrit language for children and elders in April2014 at Barathiya Vidya Bhavan, Abbasiya. Without much interest, more clearly with my father’s constraint ,I began going for the workshop. As the language was new to me, I was not much excited.

But on the first day itself, I realized that it is was a previlaged opportunity to be a part of the session and the main excitement was Balaji sir,my teacher at Bharatiya Vidya Bhavan.

I was really mesmerized by the way Sir introduced the new language to all of us.It was really a challenge for sir as the age group varied from children to elders, but his regular versatile style was visualized throughout the session .He handled the class through songs, games ,actions ,slokas and other presentation styles. I, being the youngest member in the group ,who was not much familiar to puranas and epics got thorough support from the entire team. Though the pronunciation was difficult, I studied it fast because of his effort and thorough training. As days passed, my interest to study Sanskrit expanded. On the 10th day, we presented a skit in Sanskrit.

In class 6 ,I opted Sanskrit as my second language and Balaji sir began teaching me . He taught us in such a way that we will be mentally relaxed which the simplicity of this language. The communication skill training session was very interesting as he made it a point that all spoke in Sanskrit during class hours. Being a beginner and a transformation from Hindi to Sanskrit was easy as sir spend extra time with each one of us to develop confidence to continue with the language. He is a true role model as a knowledgeable man should always be, humble and simple. My first guru in Sanskrit who created passion in me was taught me for two consecutive years.

In our school every year, we hold Sanskrit divas, which are well organized by the Sanskrit department. Through cultural events, we create awareness session about the power of studying Sanskrit. It certainly makes the body and mind fresh with rejuvenated thoughts and can even improve the memory of people. From class 8 onwards, our Sanskrit class was well taken care by Sunil sir, my class teacher for the remaining three consecutive years, who moulded me through care, scoldings and guided me through the right track.

The dedication of my two Sanskrit teachers are worthy to our school to enhance more children to study this classical language of India . Self-expression and self-exploration can be done only by the use of proper language, which was duly supported by my teachers.

With the guidance, support and blessings of the two pillars of Bhavans,I completed the four level examination of Sanskrit—Praveshaha,Parichayaha, Shiksha and Kovidaha.

It’s my humble request to everyone to find a source to know about the language as it can play a wonderful role in your life. Explore it and Enjoy it.

Let me thank from the bottom of my heart to my two worthy teachers whom , I always carry in my mind ,for introducing me to the world of my favourite language.

With due respect I wholeheartedly thank all my beloved teachers .

HAPPY TEACHERS DAY
