MEW collected over 700,000 Dinar from expatriates in a week

The Ministry of Electricity and Water collected debts from expatriates and Gulf nationals, estimated at about 700,000 dinars, in seven days following the issuance of a decision by the Ministry of Interior that non-Kuwaitis leaving the country for whatever reason must settle all their outstanding dues owed to government institutions.

According to Al-Qabas daily report, some citizens of the Gulf Cooperation Council countries have debts ranging between two thousand and four thousand dinars to the Ministry of Electricity and Water as dues for the services provided.

It also reported that the ministry is currently planning to link bill payment systems with a number of other entities in the country, including banks, the Public Authority for Manpower, and the Ministry of Social Affairs, so that payment of dues will be a condition for completing transactions related to those entities.
