The Kuwaiti Humanitarian Friendship Association recently honored senior Indian residents who have dedicated decades to Kuwait and made impactful contributions to its society. In a prestigious ceremony at the St. Regis Hotel, ten long-standing residents were recognized, including three Indians—Mr. Ravi Kohli, Mr. Kuldeep Singh Lamba, and Mr. Dhiraj Oberoi, whose efforts have left a lasting legacy in Kuwait.
Ahmed Al-Sarraf, chairman of the association, highlighted the organization’s commitment to providing aid without bias toward nationality, religion, or background. "Our goal is to serve those in need, irrespective of any distinction," he affirmed, emphasizing the association's inclusive approach.
During the event, the society celebrated the contributions of these long-term residents, recognizing the profound social, economic, and humanitarian impact they have made. They have been an integral part of Kuwait’s development, leaving a unique mark on the community.
Ravi Kohli, is a successful Indian entrepreneur who introduced the richness of Indian cuisine to Kuwaiti locals through his renowned Dawat and Taal restaurants, fostering cultural exchange through food.
Kuldeep Singh Lamba, who moved to Kuwait at the age of 18, is now a leading figure at Al Mailam Group of Companies. He has witnessed and contributed to the country’s transformation over the past fifty years, marking his presence in Kuwait’s corporate landscape.
Dhiraj Oberoi led the Kuwait Indo Trading Company (KITCO), a beloved brand in Kuwait, known for its iconic chips that resonate with nostalgia for generations. He is also the board member of the KITCO holding group.
